ANOTHER QUARTER🤭

IT IS HEALTH-WEEK O'CLOCK.

Quarter 1 of 2024 is already over. Ladies and Gentlemen, I never experredit. How did the months fly!? A number of us are probably flipping through pages containing goals and aspirations for the first quarter. Were they achieved? Let's not weep over spilt milk- Another chance is here 🥂

Customarily, we shall recap on the activities of March (which was a lot, by the way).

The month started with a fast-paced Academic Trivia in partnership with Osmosis, from the office of the General Secretary with the winner being Jesse Bina Preye, winning with a cash prize of ₦5000 and a free osmosis subscription. The second prize winner was Kehinde Omotosho, with a cash prize of ₦3000 and a free Osmosis subscription. The questions can be accessed on the association's Instagram page.

8th March, 2024 was International Women's Day, and it was well-celebrated all over the world. As an inclusive organization, a webinar was organized for the women with speakers such as Dr. Modupe Soyinka of Veritas Dental Clinic and Professor Victor Oloje as speakers. It was a very impactful and insightful conversation, with these respected women sharing bits and tips on how they navigated the world and got to where they are now. Kudos to the organizing team. 🥂

As an association, We celebrated World Oral Health Day (WOHD), 2024 in a grand style. The theme of this year's WOHD was “A Happy Mouth is A Happy Body” and we took the message to the streets, secondary schools and the market. However, before this, an inter-class contest was organized by the office of the Public Relations Officer. It was a very competitive one, with creativity at it's peak from the various classes. After a very thorough judging process, the winner was crowned as the 2k26 (100Level) class with a total score of 75.32 and a cash prize of ₦30,000. The second prize was given to the 2k24 (300level) class with a total score of 70.7 and a cash prize of ₦20,000. They were closely followed by the 2k25 (200Level) class with a total score of 70.33 and a cash prize of ₦10,000.

The week started with a walk from Dental School to Mokola roundabout. In addition, school outreach and market Outreach was also held. It was a very engaging week for all UADS members.

It is no longer news that the most anticipated week of each year is happening in April- UADS HEALTHWEEK!

We have always upheld a standard and this year will be no different.
